ck out this section of the beach just north of our house in corolla, it's just at the beginning of the 4 wheel drive beach, a little past the fence that's pictured below. The image above was stitched together in my iphone from 3 separate photos........cool beans, huh
and for the uninformed, the fence goes from the ocean to sound, and is there to help protect the wild horses of corolla from the public as much as possible..........more info on corolla's wild horses here
from bumps to the beach, two of my favorite places
missed posting yesterday, I thought that 7-8-09 would be a cool date to start up the blog again, but with things crazy busy here at the beach, it didn't happen.
lot's of awesome clients and way cool images again this summer, I'll try and get a few up every day or so the beach and the dunes in Corolla rock..........and remember folks, it's never too early to start thinking about Christmas......... portraits make perfect gifts, especially for people who "have everything" these guys definitely have the Christmas card thing together this year!and a oh yeah, the running streak is still goin' strong, today it hit 922 days!

new jersey pet photographers portraits morris county, bergen county
Gotta leave the mtn now and get down to some serious St Paddys day stuff....buy some corned beef, cabbage, more Guinness and get down to cookin it all up
this family beach portrait was taken just after sunrise in Corolla, it's amazing how happy the kids are looking that early!
I love the mornings in the Outer Banks, hardly people on the beach, not too hot, just a beautiful paradise....
Speaking of beautiful, how beautiful is this little lady......
aren't newborn babies just so amazing...... ________________________________________________ and speaking of amazing.......check out the amazing Skippy on the slopes
I've had the pleasure of photographing some newborns lately, Peyton was only twelve days old when she was before my camera, and she was a perfect little model.........
and Candy was only ten weeks old when she posed.......another perfect model
I love Daylight Savings Time Like so many others yesterday, I spent a good part of the day looking for my lost hour.......but unlike so many others, I found mine.....it was right there on my living room sofa, disguised so cleverly as a nap. I snapped it up and now all is good :-)
On Saturday Chris and I stopped by Rutt's Hut in Clifton, NJ for some of the best fried ( yeah, that's right..FRIED, rippers as they are known by the regulars ) hot dogs I've ever had. Chris has been there a ton, but it was my first time......and I highly recommend it
I might even stop by on my way into the city later!
and it ( March ) sure did come in like a lion, at least here in NJ ( I wonder what in was like in Corolla and Duck? ) We had a nice storm starting on Sunday and continuing well into Monday. Here's a sweet image that was taken from my front door, in fact I like it so much I used it in my Picture A Day Project.
Since we had the snow I decided to head up to Mountain Creek yesterday..............had an awesome time w/my snowboard and the G10 ck out the video below
the picture a day project is still going strong, although the rules have changed a bit.......pictures are still taken each day, but they no longer have to be posted that same day........sometimes that just doesn't work, ya know, like if I get home at midnight, that not always the best time to work...lol
and the project is having it's desired effect, which is basically making me see more.........shapes, line, light, you know, all that cool stuff......as Jimmy Buffet says " I travel on the song lines that only dreamers see". and speaking of Jimmy Buffet, of whom I am a huge fan, ck this out
"Madoff made off with all the money"....lol and "Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan......we've got a lot to drink about"
lol!
Kathy C sent me this, about this dude who's running streak hits 7k days tomorrow, how freakin awesome is that? My streak hit 790 days today, I've got a loooooooong way to go to 7K, don't even know if it's possible....I'm afraid to do the math.......
---------------------------------------- Skip, Spike, Toph and I went to see Will Ferrell do W the other day and he was really great!
The show runs thru mid March and we highly recommend it.........and like the tourists we truly are, we hung outside the stage door to see WF come out....he seems like a nice guy, and spent a bunch of time chatting and signing autographs with all the fans who had waited.
is Kim's birthday and this year she is 27, and the words of James McMurty "it's a damn short movie, how'd we ever get here?" seem very appropriate here. Kim is with Aaron in Louisiana, so Skip, Chris and I decided to sing happy birthday and send it to her....and since Laura is in NYC and wasn't available for this production, we included her the best we could...lol.......check it out
got in a chilly 3 miler this morning that brings the running streak to 757 days!
you may have noticed the Greener Photography logo on the sidebar, it's a group I'm just starting to get involved with and it's pretty cool, be sure to click on the logo and check it out ( but they need to send me this years logo...lol )
some cool images was working on Jonathon's Bar Mitzvah album today and really liked this image
and I found this one from Italy on my iPhone
and this one was photographed the other day at Chris's track meet at the armory in Jersey City
and even though it's in the 20's here in NJ, I'm still checkin out the surf report at Corolla Surf Shop on a daily basis.......I can't wait for summer!
family beach portraits and wedding photography in Corolla and Duck in the Outer Banks of North Carolina OBX
got this image this morning on my iPhone while driving Chris to school, I dig the motion blur.....it's really got that early morning feel...ya know, that not quite yet focused feeling cause the coffee hasn't fully kicked in......lol
had dinner the other evening with my buds from The Image Maker. Rob, Wendy, Darlene and I all used to work together in Mendham and Berkeley Heights doing portrait photography of families and children. I'm stoked that we still get together now and then, check us out in front of the old studio in Bekeley Heights after leaving Delicious Heights.
Man, it's freezing here in Hackettstown today, so I'll probably wuss out and go for my run on the old dreadmill and watch sports center or old episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
This little cutie's baby portrait was part of a family that I photographed on the beach this past December in Corolla, North Carolina on a day when it was still nice and warm. Here she is with the rest of her family on the awesome Outer Banks beach.
and here's a family from Basking Ridge, N.J., that was photographed in Beach Haven on Long Beach Island in New Jersey about 18 months ago. It was on my desktop because they just reordeded some prints......which is something that any of my clients can do anytime, since I store all client files in a safe archival manner forever.
won't be long till the weathers warm up though, after all, it's only 22 days till pitchers & catchers! I can hardly wait......
okay so today I started a new exercise...a picture a day stream at Flickr....I'm going to photograph something new each day, and post it here.....I'm hoping that it will encourage me to see more light, and more of everything every day......and the rules for this mission are very, the image can be of anything and anywhere that I want and must be made and posted that day, and that means my day, anytime from when I wake up till when I go to bed, clock time doesn't matter, and from any camera I want, even from my iPhone, uploaded any way I want, with any post production that I want or don't want (hey...It's my deal, so I make the rules). Like the running streak ( 749 days! ) I have no idea how long this will last, but be sure to check it out every now and then. If you want to see the inaugural (good word these days huh) image click here enjoy!
after a relaxing, but all too fast week at the beach in Corolla it feels really good to be home in Hackettstown, i guess it's the old New Years thing and focusing on all the positives and all the stuff I want to accomplish this year.
Later today we're headed to NYC to pick up Spike ( laura ) and then headed uptown to check out Chis at a track meet at the 168th St Armory. I'm kinda pysched as it looks like a really cool place.
Now's it's time to get out for my daily run ( gotta get rid rid of some of that holiday weight gain!).
