as summer turns to fall

i'm headed to nj tomorrow for Katie & Joe's wedding on saturday and i'm totally, totally psyched.......

the past couple of weeks i've been super efficient and mostly working on client orders ( alright, still running every day, and getting in more surfing...lol ) from the past 4-6 weeks, click the arrow below and ck some out.....

summers com'n to an end pretty fast here in Corolla, ck out some very cool recent images in the slide show, a mix of clients and some of my stuff........and check out the song in the show....Back to the River by Band of Brotherz, kind of hip hop set to Grateful Dead background music ( and you how huge of a Dead fan I am, saw my 1st show in '71! ), listen to the Franklins Tower riffs in the background...too freakin cool

ever see the movie Nights in Rodanthe? well that house really does exist, and it is right on the water, just like in the movie....here it's catching some waves from hurrican Bills swell a few weeks ago

and a much quieter evening in Duck

this guy's been hangin around the past few days, always on this old tree about 75 yards from my studio........I've mostly seen Ospreys up there this summer, but I'm pretty sure this dude is an eagle...any comments on that would be welcome

tour buses have been coming through the village once a week or so this year, I guess that means we're happening here....I mean if people pay to see us it's gotta be true.....lol

here's me and mah crew after the Sandbar 5k ( 3.1 miles on soft sand! ) a few weeks ago, we all finished w/very respectable times, especially Bradley, the dude in the middle, who had never run a 5k before and didn't know what to expect.....he totally kicked the course's butt!

speaking of running, today the running streak hit 981 days with a six miler in the rain, and I'm totally psyched because the hip flexor issue of the past two weeks finally turned a corner today, thanks to some stretches from Chris aka Tophala on twitter.

I've been big time into surf music this summer and have been really diggin' the surf channel on AOL radio, you really should check it out.........and this morning, thanks to Radio Margaritaville, I discovered Laika and The Cosmonauts, great surf type tunes from some dudes from Finland!

The guy was hangin on my window ck'n out my work, but he never called and scheduled an appointment........and he left w/o cleaning up his slime........

ahhhhhh, the beach and the jeep, think we'll have to get together again this evening, along with a couple of beers

Corolla Beach Portraits

and I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that I live in a place where people work hard 50 or so weeks a year so that they can visit where I live for a week or two.........

the running streak will hit 943 days with tomorrow mornings 7 miler!

and I'm sad to say that my original ipod shuffle died the other day, just after saying how great it was in a post the other week........it got 2 1/2 year s of heavy use ( and abuse ) so I guess I can't complain.........but I'm pysched cause I was able to order a new 2nd generation one off the apple site for only $39..........what a deal!

Want the sweetest running music setup ever?
combo a 2nd gen iPod shuffle and a set of Sennheiser PMX70's

the sennheiser's have great sound and never fall off, and the shuffle is so small it can clip anywhere, back of your shorts, hat, wherever, you won't even know it's there!

hurry up on the 2nd gen's though, I think Apple has discontinued them....at $49 bucks a pop it worth it to pick up a back-up too

ck out this section of the beach just north of our house in corolla, it's just at the beginning of the 4 wheel drive beach, a little past the fence that's pictured below. The image above was stitched together in my iphone from 3 separate photos........cool beans, huh

and for the uninformed, the fence goes from the ocean to sound, and is there to help protect the wild horses of corolla from the public as much as possible..........more info on corolla's wild horses here

missed posting yesterday, I thought that 7-8-09 would be a cool date to start up the blog again,
but with things crazy busy here at the beach, it didn't happen.
